Revere, Massachusetts is the hub for some amazing things to do and see each summer including the International Sand Sculpting Festival we discussed in our last blog but also an Arts Festival at the end of the season and lots more in the summer days in between. There are also lots of activities and events happening in nearby Boston and the neighboring communities making Revere the place to be this summer.
As you begin to plan the long summer days and nights for yourself and your family, keep these superb ideas in mind to fill your summer with fun and memorable activities.
#1- Kiteboarding Lessons on Revere Beach
Beach lovers can find many things to do on the three-mile sandy stretch of Revere Beach. Walking, sunbathing, swimming, and riding the waves are popular favorites. But if you’re looking for something more exciting and heart-thumping, you may want to try kiteboarding lessons with the New England Kite School.
Lessons right on Revere Beach will have you hooked on the adrenaline-loving sport in no time. The experienced and professional instructors will teach you all about the equipment, how to ride, and (of course) all the safety measures needed to enjoy a thrilling ride.
#2 – Revere’s Summer Concert & On-the-Beach Movie Series
Revere’s Summer Concert Series and Beach Movies series are back again for another enjoyable season.
Every Thursday from 6-8 pm, starting in June and running through August 31st, the City of Revere will host FREE pop music performances in varying locations along Revere Beach. Live music including country, Reggae, and Caribbean Steel Drum Bands will keep you dancing and soaking up every last second of summer.
Revere Beach movie nights are already back in full swing. Screenings of family-friendly movies can be viewed Thursday Nights on the beach. Bring your blanket, beach chair, and the whole family for these free movies under the stars.
All movies begin at sunset and complimentary popcorn is served. Check the dates below for locations and movies being shown.

- July 13th – The Karate Kid – across from Kelly’s Roast Beef at 410 Revere Beach Boulevard
- July 20th – Jumanji – across from Kelly’s Roast Beef at 410 Revere Beach Boulevard
- August 3rd – Back To The Future – across from the Twist and Shake at 82 Revere Beach Boulevard
- August 10th – Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory – across from Kelly’s Roast Beef at 410 Revere Beach Boulevard
#3 Events at Suffolk Downs
Events are underway at Suffolk Downs in East Boston on the land once occupied by the Suffolk Downs Racing Track. This area is now being renovated to bring the communities of Revere and East Boston together with lots of shopping, activities, and opportunities from this underutilized area.
Many residents are already using the track for walks and stopping by the dog park. Coming in the future are more restaurants, shops, and activities for residents and families alike.
Past events included the Marathon Daffodil Dash, Union Job Fairs, and Charity walks. Future events include the Touch a Truck at the Track scheduled for September 10th, 2023, and the Dock Dogs Event in October.
Currently, The Stage at Suffolk Downs is providing seasonal outdoor concerts. Check out the schedule for full events.
#4 Northern Strand Community Trail
The Northern Strand Community Trail connects Lynn, Revere, Saugus, Malden, Everett, and all the community neighborhoods. This 10-mile rail trail, meant for non-motorized bikes, walkers, bird watchers, or outdoor enthusiasts, is also referred to as Bike To The Sea and can provide hours of exercise and enjoyment for residents.
#5 Revere Beach Arts Festival
Held in the waning days of the summer annually, this Arts Festival offers fun activities, artists selling their incredible pieces, live music, and a Live Art Competition. This year it is being held on September 16th, 2023.
There’s plenty to do and see here in Revere whether you want a lazy day on the beach or an exciting afternoon kiteboarding above the water. Take advantage of all the opportunities Revere has to offer.
