Thankfully, there are plenty of places including playspaces, museums, and parks that you will want to include on your must-see list this year.

Revere is so conveniently close to all the major attractions of Boston and easy to access by bus, MBTA, or, in some cases, by foot! Here are a few places that your children will love as you explore the attractions of Boston and the Revere area.

Legoland Discovery Center

Located about five miles away in Somerville, Massachusetts, the Legoland Discovery Center is a Lego-lover’s dream come true. This fun indoor center is a great way to spend the entire day imagining all the ways that Legos can be joined to create anything your heart desires.

There are a host of fun kids activities, as well as workshops, rides, and attractions, all waiting for kids to enjoy them. Start by marveling over the 1.5 million LEGO bricks that were used to build Boston’s iconic attractions and buildings. Then head to a builders area where your child can create Lego racers, play games, and enjoy rides. Don’t forget to check out the gift store on the way out!

Boston Children’s Museum

Located about 7 miles from Revere, on Children’s Wharf along the Fort Point Channel, Boston Children’s Museum is one of the oldest children’s museums in the country. Plan to spend the day at this museum where you can explore the exhibits before you leave home. Pick and choose which are your favorites including the Explore-a-Saurus, the Construction Zone, Art Rooms, Bubbles, the STEAM Lab and so much more!

This is a great place to visit n the winter and spring/summer. The attractions are inside but you can explore the outdoors along the water when your children need a break.

Franklin Park Zoo

Best explored during the spring, summer, and fall during the good weather, the Franklin Park Zoo will blow your mind with the number of exhibits that will capture your heart. From the new gorilla exhibit to the tigers, lion, and giraffe enclosures, you will love every second of the time you spend at the zoo!

Plan to spend the day and bring your sneakers because you will want to visit every square inch of this expansive zoo right in the heart of Boston.

The New England Pirate Museum

Just a short drive north to the historic district of Salem, Massachusetts, you will find a swashbuckling good time at the New England Pirate Museum! Learn all about Blackbeard and Captain Kidd who wandered the coastline of New England as they plundered ships for treasure. Examine real artifacts, board a pirate ship, and learn more about the real history of these scoundrels.

While you are in Salem, visit the Witch Museum, the Maritime Museum, and the ship Friendship in the Harbor, or try your hand at old video games at the Bit Bar while you catch a rest and bite to eat.

Have fun making memories with your children while they learn about the world around them. It’s these moments that they will remember for years to come.
