Let’s Go Fly A Kite In Revere

The power of flight is a superpower that many humans would love to experience. Short of strapping on a rocket booster or experiencing the weightlessness of space, not many people can say they have felt the rush of flying above all the action with a birds-eye view of life back on Earth.

While we may not be able to fly as humans (yet), we can get a sense of the zen-like feeling when we take time out of our busy days to fly a kite. The swirling and twirling path our tethered kite takes in the air can give us a sense of being carefree and lighter-than-air ourselves. Add to this the beauty that kites add to a dazzling blue sky and you have a recipe for a fantastic way to spend a day.

Let’s go fly a kite in Revere, Massachusetts and experience, at least in some part, the joy of flying.

Revere Beach Kite Festival

The three-mile, crescent-shaped stretch of Revere Beach is an ideal destination to fly a kite during the spring, summer and fall months. There is one time every year, however, when flying a kite along Revere Beach Boulevard becomes almost surreal – the Revere Beach Partnership Annual Kite Festival.

The Revere Kite Festival is held every May as a way of kicking off beach season with fun for the whole family! From giant flying creatures to miniature-sized speeders, and from high-speed stunt kites to formation flying there is a style, color and size kite for everyone.

Join in the fun this year on May 19th, 2024 as children and adults alike have the chance to build their own or fly one they bring on Revere Beach. The event also features professional kite flyers, live music, and other family-friendly activities. This event brings in people of all ages to enjoy a beautiful spring day on the beach and have family fun!

Revere Beach

This year marks the 8th Annual Kite Festival and it seems to get bigger every year with visitors from all over the state coming together to enjoy a day on the sand while they watch the skies for kites that capture the imagination and our hearts.

If you would like to take part in this year’s Kite Festival head to Revere Beach from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and bring your sand chairs to enjoy a full day of activities and food along the Nation’s First Public Beach.

Take the MBTA Blue Line to Revere Beach via Wonderland and meet us across from historic Kelly’s Roast Beef as we celebrate the start of the beach season with the annual Revere Beach Partnership Kite Festival.
