Rumney Marsh Burying Ground

The Rumney Marsh Burial Ground, located on Butler Street, was established in 1693 and features the final resting places of some of the area’s earliest settlers, Revolutionary War heroes, enslaved persons, a link to the Salem Witch Trials and more. The gravestones themselves are well-kept and represent the different styles of early New England gravestone art. The burial ground is open, weather permitting, from 9am to 4pm daily between March 1 and December 1. We hope you will enjoy a visit to Revere’s historic hidden gem!
